“A very large village of Jews” is how the Church Father Eusebius of Caesarea defined En-Gedi in the early fourth century C.E. (Onomasticon 86). This definition is expressed in striking and tangible form in the excavations conducted at the site. This final report, painstakingly put together from the excavators diary and daily reports after 40 years, will be an invaluable reference for understanding the site of En-Gedi.
